Key Points on CopyLEFT

12 03 2010

My mind is still buzzing over Larry Lessig’s captivating Ted Talk “Laws that Choke Creativity”.  Here’s a quick Wordle containing what I thought were some of the most important thoughts or key words from the presentation.

Included in the Wordle are snippets of Lessig’s popular line (not absolutely sure if I’m directly quoting or paraphrasing a bit here):

There’s no way to ‘kill’ this technology, we can only criminalize it’s use, drive it underground.  We can’t make our kids passive in the way they want to grow up, we can only make them pirates.   This is writing in the 21st century. This is literacy for a new generation.  It is changing democracy.  People are participating in the creating and the re-creating of their culture
